Police Searching For Leads In LI Robberies That Happened Within Minutes Of Each Other

Police are investigating two robberies on Long Island that occurred within minutes of each other and could be connected.

Police are searching for a man who robbed a 7-Eleven in Bay Shore and a BP gas station minutes later.

The first robbery took place at 3:05 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, when a man walked into the 7-Eleven at 1320 5th Ave., in Bay Shore, and displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded cash from the employee, said the Suffolk County Police.

The employee complied and the man fled the scene. 

The second robbery took place around 15 minutes later when a man entered the BP gas station at 660 Islip Ave. in Brentwood, and demanded cash from an employee at the counter, police said.

Once again, the employee complied and the man fled the scene. 

Detectives believe both robberies may have been committed by the same man.
